Understanding When to Use Three Never-Seez® Anti-Seize Compounds

An industry leader in anti-seize compounds, the Never-Seez product line enables manufacturers to get maximum tightening force while applying the least amount of torque. Yet while all Never-Seez products protect metal parts and allow for easier assembly and disassembly, not all are suited for every application.

Take a look at when to use certain Never-Seez anti-seize compounds over others.

Regular Grade

Never-Seez Regular Grade is ideal for applications where the metal parts are exposed to temperatures up to 1800°F. It’s important to ensure that the desired application allows the presence of copper, given that this product is formulated with copper, graphite and aluminum.

Please note that this anti-seize compound should not be used for high-speed bearings or in pure oxygen/oxygen rich systems. Otherwise, key uses where Regular Grade would be best include:

  • Pipe fittings
  • Valve assemblies
  • Gaskets

Pure Nickel Special

This particular anti-seize compound protects metal parts against seizure, galling, galvanic and corrosion in temperatures up to 2400°F. Able to withstand higher temperatures than Regular Grade, Pure Nickel Special is ideal for applications that prohibit the presence of copper. Formulated with nickel and graphite-based ingredients, this anti-seize compound is well suited for:

  • Fasteners in exhaust manifolds and boilers
  • Stainless steel pipe fittings

Like Regular Grade, Pure Nickel Special also should not be used for high-speed bearings or in pure oxygen or oxygen rich systems.

High Temperature Stainless

Never-Seez High Temperature Stainless is specially designed for applications that cannot use nickel-based products. Comprised of stainless steel, graphite and aluminum-based anti-seize and lubricating compounds, it can protect parts in temperatures up to 2200°F. As a result, it is ideal for:

  • Fasteners in steel mills and power plants
  • Stainless steel pipe fittings, flanges and unions
  • Reactor bolts and turbine bolts

However, please note that this anti-seize compound should not be used for high-speed bearings or in pure oxygen/oxygen rich systems.
